Changing Axway Password#
Some Axway accounts utilize Client Initiated Transfers (CIT) where the vendor or trading partner initiates the connection to Axway to either drop off or pick up a file. These accounts require yearly password changes unless SSH keys are used.
SSH Key Alternative
If you or your vendor are connecting to Axway via SCP/FTP, we prefer that you generate a private/public key pair and provide JST with the public key. See this article for information. If you utilize an SSH key, the password functionality can be disabled which eliminates the need to rotate the password annually.
Password Change Steps#
Tip
These steps need to be performed from a network/IP address that is allowed to access Axway. See this article for more information.
-
Login to the Axway user interface with the current username/password. Each environment has a unique password so annual changes will need to be made in both.

-
In the upper right corner, open the dropdown menu and select Password

-
Input your old password and a new password. The password requirements are:
- At least 16 characters
- At least 1 alpha character(s)
- At least 1 numeric character(s)
- At least 1 special character(s)
- Must be different than the last 10 recently used passwords.
